the pink portraits

the pink portraits explore darker themes and emotions such as anxiety, rage, fear, shame, disassociation… our inner worlds can be confronting and scary to face but looking at the emotion, getting curious about it, is what softens the fear. seeing an emotion externalised on a canvas can make them more accessible, normalised and they will lose some of their charge. all emotions, states, and inner fragments just want to be seen. held, accepted, understood and seen. that’s what we all want.

my head cut off, relief
my legs cut off, relief
my thoughts free to flutter
roses overgrown
awaken me

split my consciousness
two of us now, multiply
eternal freeze
hell isn’t fire hell was always
ice

shoot me and you will bleed
the mind a microcosmos
and we’ve been here before
I shoot, I bleed, I am
you
